[Newsletter] NUDG(E)-ing consumers towards energy efficiency through behavioural science

Dear reader,

Our new issue of the NUDGE project newsletter is ready!

Eleven partners across Europe have worked on the project for a year and we are happy to share the first significant results into this newsletter and invite you to a webinar detailing them next week, on 9 November.

The first phase of data collection on energy consumers’ behaviour is ending, while the second phase kicks off. Our EU-wide survey, translated in 15 languages and completed by persons in 29 countries, collected information on the energy behaviour of European citizens. This helped capture their perceptions by considering a variety of psychological and contextual variables and led to the creation of energy consumers profiles.

In this second year, NUDGE will carry out five field trials with a broad set of behavioural interventions with high potential for energy savings, targeting consumers from Greece, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, and Croatia. Our 5 pilots now have their apps set up, participants are recruited, and meters installed, the next step will be starting the nudging interventions. Workshops have been conducted with participants and stakeholders to discuss the nudges per pilot in terms of user acceptance, comprehensibility, and ease-of-use

Dive into the project with the first report now available, using the survey’s results to profile energy consumers and understand their behaviour in relation to energy efficiency.
